Artists with different approaches to the use of archives were invited to reflect on these questions through the specificity of their practice: How do we appropriate our own history? How do we integrate the colonial period in our histories the same way we have done with language? In what ways can we insert the missing frame? What gives the black and white image its hierarchical power? Why and for whom are these fragments sacred? How do we make do with what we have?
