Photo Exhibition and Video Installation

An exhibition at D’art opened on November 3^rd 2022 showing the rarely seen paintings of Mauritanian Art Collector Mr. Mustapha Chafi. The old paintings of ancestral musicians and instruments were appropriate for the theme of this Iteration. A Second Hall at D’Art Space exhibited Mme Antonia Barbosa Fortés rare Postcard collection of Mauritania Since the 1950’s.

Another installed painting exhibition at D’Art was by Mauritanian Artist Mamadou Anne who did a Storytelling performance. Mr Anne is a prolific painter inspired by local oral folktales which he then activates musically as a means to visualize orality. He also did an onsite spontaneous painting and storytelling session.
